NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME

Our Regular Activities at a Glance

The National Service Scheme (NSS) being a socially oriented movement, its platform of activity is always the society. It aims at developing amongst students a sense of participation in nation building through Social Work. This deepens understanding of the social environment and enriches his/her personality through actual participation in day-to-day life of the society. This process of learning is not only a desirable supplement to the classroom education but develops in the student a sense of responsibility, tolerance and cooperation. NSS Badge

The NSS symbol is embossed on the NSS badge. The NSS volunteers wear it while undertaking any programme of community service. The Konark wheel in the symbol has eight bars which represent the 24 hours of the day. Hence, the badge reminds the wearer to be in readiness for service of the nation round the clock i.e. for 24 hours. The red color in the badge indicates that the NSS volunteers are full of blood i.e. lively, active, energetic and full of high spirit. The navy blue color indicates the cosmos of which the NSS is a tiny part, ready to contribute its share for the welfare of the mankind.

Youth Red Cross

The Youth Red Cross (YRC) is a part of the Indian Red Cross Society. Since the power to serve the meek lies in the hands of the youth, the young generation of our college possesses a remarkable strength in conducting camps and educating the vulnerable people. They have organized innumerable blood donation camps and HIV awareness programs. In addition, they have also involved themselves in educating the people about health and hygiene. The YRC helps the society and the youth to live in harmony.
