1.Conscientious training and proficiency development for Career growth:

Objective of this practise is Enhance Technical Skills, Soft skills development, Adaptability and Innovation, Industry-Relevant Skills, Career Readiness.
Skill development training is used for up scaling Employability, Innovation, Collaboration skills of the students. The actual practise of training and development involves great preparation. Considering all parameters like readiness of the student and his ability to learn skill sets for each semester and his learning’s, a structured content is developed as a complete package to make the students ready to face the challenges of the industry. Students were given intensive training in a scheduled in a sequential manner right from semester1and continued up to semester 8. In first year student focuses on developing his communication skills along with a dedicated coaching for vocabulary the program is titled as Eloquent English. Semester 3 and 4 focuses on Advanced Quant’s, Interview skills and Attitude. Semester 7 and 8 focuses on training on Group Discussions and Company Specific training. Mock interviews are conducted for the student to give him full confidence for placement interviews. The outcome of this practice enabled high percentage of students to come up with flying colors in the campus placement interviews conducted at MCE.

2.Institution Innovation Practices :

The objectives of instituting innovation practices in Mahendra College of engineering are diverse and encompass various aspects.
The main objective of this practice is to make the students understand the impact of innovation in engineering. To give insights to the students by facilitating them with knowledge transfer through the stalwarts of Innovators in the field of Engineering. To organize those programs and workshops to help them understand the importance of higher order thinking that could lead to innovations. To help them to identify the problems in the society that could be eradicated due to technological intervention. To help the engineers to come up with best possible solutions for real time society based problems that could be solved through technological intervention.
Since from inception, MCE’s IIC has organized 100+ events to nurture and develop innovation and Entrepreneurship ecosystem in the Campus. Webinars, workshops, panel discussions and competitions are organized periodically to connect the team with subject matter experts. MCE’s-IIC has the representation from various industry, academic institution, technology business incubators, faculty and students from various departments to have an Interdisciplinary ecosystem. Start-up Interactive sessions were organized to facilitate the students with better ideas of Start-up. Regular seminars on Entrepreneurial opportunities, design thinking and Intellectual property rights and Research methodology were organized. As results of this practise, students came up with innovative project ideas, converted them into actual projects and displayed them in project expos and visited many other colleges and got appreciation and accolades. Students have attended hackathon competitions and won prizes at various levels. Innovative projects have been filed for recognition as patents. Student’s won prizes at various levels of internal and external hackathon. TNSCST government sponsorship award won for innovative projects received for two consecutive years. The evidence of MCE’s IIC success lies in showcasing the achievements of its diversified members. IIC has bagged “4 Star” Rating. Various student start ups have been initiated and student entrepreneurs were developed from MCE.
