MATHEMATICS

About the department

Mathematics is an indispensable subject in the study of science and technology. The importance of mathematics in engineering is known to everybody. Without having a sound knowledge of mathematics it is not possible to become a good engineer. The Department of Mathematics strives to instill a conceptual understanding of the subject which would go a long way in the study of their respective branches of engineering.

The department of mathematics is to provide a supportive environment where students can learn and become experts in mathematics, through dedicated teaching and motivation. Moreover, the department will contribute to the development of students as mathematical thinkers.

We provide beginners with bridge courses to become acquainted with the preliminaries of mathematics and the techniques to use and train them in the rigor and precision characteristic of mathematical reasoning. We prescribe papers that help to acquire the mathematical knowledge and the reasoning skills necessary to make effective use of mathematics.
